Performance

Lately, I have been trying out a lot of different sunscreens because I’ve been experiencing dry skin, and have been using retinol on and off. Anyone who has used retinol know about the skin sensitivity and the peeling…it’s crazy. So, I’ve been using both chemical and physical sunscreens depending on how my skin looks and feels. Generally speaking, I avoid chemical sunscreens when I am on retinol because of the sensitivity and stinging. If I use physical sunscreen, I find that with the white tint, my dry/peeling skin gets even more emphasized…and that looks ugly…so then I started playing with different textures of physical sunscreens and found that a moisturizing/creamy one works better. Anyway, back to Kiehl’s Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+…I actually really like this sunscreen. It is completely transparent when applied and creates the most perfect matte, non-sticky finish. It is a great base for your makeup. It seems like it is suitable for sensitive skin, as I have not experienced any stinging. The sunscreen lasts me all day without getting oily, has good UVA and UVB filters and I like the addition of vitamin E.

Pros

  • Powerful, broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen protection
  • Paraben-Free, Fragrance-Free, Oil-Free, Color-Free, Non-Comedogenic
  • Water-Resistant (80 minutes)
  • Absorbs quickly and easily into the skin
  • Doesn’t clog pores
  • Matte finish due to light mineral powder
  • Can easily be layered and works well under makeup

Cons

I did not find any.

The Bottom Line

Texture and finish is very important for me when it comes to sunscreens…and I really like the finish of this sunscreen. It is matte, not drying and great as a base for your makeup. I will keep on using this and I highly recommend this to everyone and anyone.
